MEDICAL SECRETARY - MELBOURNE MENTAL HEALTH

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Medical Secretary to join Melbourne Mental Health working from our newly renovated complex located on Auburn Road, Hawthorn. We are seeking a proactive, friendly, and well-organised individual to be part of our team on a full-time basis. Candidates who are looking to join our team long-term (2 years+) will be heavily preferred.

THE ROLE:
You will provide diligent secretarial support to the clinicians at Melbourne Mental Health to ensure high quality patient care is always maintained.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Welcoming patients to the clinic
* Answering telephone enquiries
* Managing incoming and outgoing mail, emails and web enquiries
* Scheduling patient appointments including registering new patients
* Processing and allocating new referrals
* Generating patient accounts and processing payments
* Medicare/DVA/Private Health Insurance billing and claiming
* Liaising with internal and external health professionals/services
* Typing up dictations prepared by clinicians
* Filing (paper and electronic documents)
* Printing and photocopying relevant documentation
* Preparing relevant reports for clinicians and accountants
* Ensuring the reception, waiting area and consulting suites are neat and tidy
* Other general office administration
ABOUT YOU:
You will be a team player with a strong focus on patient care. You will enjoy assisting and exceeding the expectations of referring practitioners, clinicians and their patients. You will be comfortable working both on your own and within a team. Your flexible approach, calm demeanour and exceptional time management skills will see you succeed in this integral role.

* Proficient typing capacity (50wpm minimum)
Previous experience in medical administration and familiarity with Halaxy software will be highly regarded but is not mandatory as we provide full training.
