This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a major new initiative for a public sector department. This role reports to the team's supervisor and will involve reviewing applications to ensure they are ready for the assessment team to action.
Key responsibilites:
1. Identify, analyse, and provide advice on documentary evidence requirements for applicants or their appointed representative to enable assessment of their application.
2. Analyse applications to determine their priority and complexity using an interpretation of established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
3. Identify and analyse documentary evidence to make interim decisions on applications to respond to the immediate needs of applicants.
4. Provide responses and referrals to other agencies.
5. Liaise with applicants and other relevant agencies to request any additional information required or evidentiary documents so that the application progresses.
6. Manage the payment of invoices.
7. Receives and reviews applications for financial assistance in readiness for assessment.
8. Determines priority and complexity of applications.
9. Complete other relevant tasks as directed by the team and Supervisor.
To be successful:
10. A relevant qualification and/or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services and/or family violence is desirable.
11. Experience responding to and communicating with vulnerable individuals in a respectful and empathetic manner.
12. Ability to undergo a National Police Check
