About The Role: Prominent Hill is copper-gold mine, a long-life asset, that is part of the BHP South Australia copper province. BHP is a global company with operations in Australia, North and South America across 5 different commodities. You will join our dynamic and results-driven team providing specialist advice, affecting the defect elimination process and undertaking reliability improvement work. Your role will focus on the end-to-end maintenance system, inclusive of parts, procedures, work quality and processes. As a Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling survey activities associated with the mining operation. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a passion for improving mine safety. Location : Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta) Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off Department : Geotechnical Services Manager: Senior Mine Surveyor Employment Type : Permanent, Full Time Applications close : 14 February 2025 In This Role You Will: Ensure accurate and timely completion of survey information and requirements within the underground mine. Issue accurate and timely survey memos to relevant stakeholders. Update and maintain mine plans for both internal and external regulatory use. Adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements related to mine surveying activities. Maintain survey control infrastructure and conducting necessary check traverses. Set out underground exploration drilling accurately. Complete production ring mark-ups and stope surveys in a timely manner. Work according to underground mine planning standards and processes About You: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate survey activities and communicate with stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic mining environment. A team-oriented mindset with the ability to integrate well into a collaborative team. Passion for mine safety and the ability to be a safety leader. Significant experience in underground surveying, demonstrating a strong understanding of underground mining methods and survey systems. Proficiency in organizing and completing daily underground survey tasks. Experience with Deswik software packages and end-of-month processes and systems.
