We have a simple mantra that expresses how important this function is to our business - the sale is not complete until the money is in the bank!Reporting to our senior credit and payables manager, this job would suit a junior accounting person who has some experience out of college and is looking for their next career development opportunity. The key responsibilities of this position includes but is not limited to: Reviewing and collecting outstanding debts in accordance with our payment terms and conditions. Communicating with internal and external people on the status of customer accounts.Monitor, review and actively manage our credit risk, and recommending courses of action on overdue payments. Dealing with customer payment queries, liaising with other departments and performing reconciliations where necessary.Initiating investigations regarding errors or discrepancies and arranging adjustment when required.Reviewing debtor ageing reports and providing regular feedback to management.Assessing new customer applications for credit worthiness.To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate requires:Experience in the finance operations of a retail or wholesale business, and with a genuine interest in credit management.Attention to detail.Demonstrated experience handling customer queries.
