This position will be based at our Central Office and will be a roving position working across metropolitan Adelaide and Fleurieu Peninsula.About the role As part of Southern Cross Care's commitment to Healthy Ageing, we use a Multi-Disciplinary approach to deliver excellent resident outcomes. This approach includes employing Speech Pathologists who are passionate about the right to Healthy Ageing for all older adults and who have the clinical skills to optimise the intrinsic capacity and functional ability of our customers.Key responsibilities of this role within the Residential Allied Health Team include but are not limited to: Being a proactive member of a multi-disciplinary care team that achieves outstanding customer outcomesProvisioning of high quality assessment and therapy servicesLeadership within the Early Intervention Working Party, including case conferencing and problem-solving of complex care needsSupporting residents on Recovery Pathways to bounce back from declineParticipating in the teaching and learning of Speech pathology requirements to staff and health care studentsThis role will also be required to work across our various Residential Aged Care sites.About you We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:A Bachelor or Master Degree in Speech Pathology or relevant Allied Health disciplineMembership with Speech Pathology Australia and the Professional Self-Regulation ProgramKnowledge and ability to competently apply current speech pathology theory to provide holistic patient careAbility to plan and coordinate clinical patient careAbility to make sound decisions and accept responsibility for own practiceEffective oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of Quality Improvement processKnowledge of legislation relevant to speech pathology practiceApplicants with recent experience in a residential aged care environment will be highly regardedAbout us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia's leading charitable aged care, health and retirement living service providers.
