ABOUT THE POSITION:To lead the creative development and production of two First Peoples touring exhibition projects through effective planning, coordination, communication and application of rigorous project management.Some of the key duties include: * Project manage the multi-million-dollar development of two First Peoples exhibitions from concept development through to operation.
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team of creative professionals engaged in the conception, development, production and delivery of innovative exhibitions.
* Scope, source, investigate, engage and manage the resource requirements (internal and external) * Establish and manage the project's budgets and schedules and be responsible for the implementation of the project within the agreed framework and timeline.
* Provide specialist expertise on a range of interpretive approaches and ensure the latest production techniques and innovative technologies are applied to the development of the exhibitions.
* Use audience insights and evaluation to ensure the project develops and delivers audience outcomes.
The successful applicant will have: * High level expertise and demonstrable experience in the development, design, production and delivery of large-scale exhibitions or other major visitor experiences, preferably in a museum environment.
* Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with the proven ability to lead teams of professional staff and use specialist expertise from a variety of disciplines to ensure the effective and collaborative achievement of complex creative projects.
* Demonstrable project management skills and experience incorporating time, cost, quality, resource and risk management of significant projects.
* Demonstrable knowledge, understanding and experience in First People's cultures of Australia.
* Extensive experience engaging with sensitive cultural considerations and stakeholders requiring a high level of skill in relationship management.
OTHER INFORMATION This role is full time, fixed term (2 years).
The salary on offer is $106,534 pro rata + 11.5% Superannuation.
