The Role of a Social Visitor
The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person in North Sydney.
You will spend time with an elderly woman who is seeking a social visitor at a residential care home in Hunters Hill, enjoying coffee together and chatting about her interests such as gardening, baking, knitting, and dressmaking.
Your Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself.
Why Join Our Team?
We are passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need, and we rely on our wonderful group of volunteers to enhance the lives of those cared for by HammondCare.
As a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, we aim to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals 18 years or older who are willing to commit to regular visits to the residential care home.
National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30-minute to one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
