The purpose of this role is to manage and support the management of assets and the delivery of associated capital infrastructure works on the State Forest and Parks Victoria road network by providing high quality civil engineering services, including providing support in the development of Departmental engineering policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with legislation, engineering standards and Departmental policies, providing support in the approval of Heavy Vehicle (OSOM) routes and permits, providing input into the preparation of tender and contract documentation, undertaking technical review of designs and inspection reports, resolving design issues during construction, providing specialist advice on complex civil engineering issues and mentoring of junior engineering staff. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering recognised in Australia. Experience in the assessment, design, development and/or construction of civil projects within or for a government department or road authority. Experience in contract management including preparing specifications, undertaking design reviews and ensuring engineering outcomes are developed and delivered in accordance with the contract specifications. Experience specific to road and bridge design and/or in a forest environment is desirable. This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
