As a casual nurse at BRHS, you will be allocated to an area of need within the health service and work within a team to provide patient-centred care to your assigned patients in a proactive and positive manner. BRHS casual nurses contribute to the nursing wards and units by providing excellence in nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures and achieve best practice using principles of evidence-based practice to improve the delivery of patient care and service delivery. BRHS casual nurses work across a range of clinical areas including the acute and sub-acute wards, perioperative services, midwifery, emergency, home-based services, dialysis, and aged care. Post-graduate qualifications and substantial experience in areas of specialty will be utilised where possible.All applicants are required to demonstrate:Current AHPRA registrationCompletion of a nurse graduate programRecent nursing experienceCompetence in clinical nursing with a good understanding of and commitment to providing patient-centred careWell-developed clinical assessment and care planning skills commensurate with scope of practiceSound understanding of the principles of discharge planningDemonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional developmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDue to the nature of the nurse bank role, it is highly desirable that applicants have recent acute nursing experience.
