The opportunity: South Coast Region is responsible for planning, design, construction, maintenance of state-controlled road infrastructure and ensuring efficient operation of the road network.Work role responsibilities:In the role of PO4 Senior Engineer (Civil) you will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the Region.
This position is based in the Asset Management team with a strong focus on providing technical expertise to support design, construction, and maintenance processes.
Accountabilities include: Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions.
Develop asset management strategies for transport infrastructure that minimise costs.
Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of program outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard for both Transport and Main Roads and clients.
You will be an effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders on matters relating to transport infrastructure activities.
Managing projects, you will be responsible to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates to achieve organisational objectives.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer (Asset Management) you will complete tasks as directed Mandatory Requirements A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
