Role Summary This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Operator to join a government-led roadworks crew based in Narrandera, NSW 2700. You will support regional infrastructure maintenance and construction by transporting materials and machinery, operating heavy vehicles onsite, and contributing to manual labour activities as part of the broader crew. The position is based on a nine-day fortnight, working 76 hours per fortnight, with 8.5-hour workdays. While some work will take place locally, this role requires approximately 90% of the time to be spent camping away from the depot. Accommodation is fully provided in these instances. $44/hr super penalties Nine-day fortnight There will be travel at ORD rates and Allowances paid for living away from home. Majority of the time you will be camped away from starting Depot Contract end date: 30 June 2025, with potential to extend. Key Responsibilities Operate a variety of machinery including Grader (Finishing Level), Loader, Rollers (Multi, Padfoot, Smooth Drum), Mixer, and Trucks as required Carry out general labouring duties as part of a construction crew Work effectively and safely on remote sites, often camping away from the starting depot Maintain equipment and ensure machinery is in safe working order Adhere to safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment About You Holds a valid White Card and Workers on foot (WOF) ticket (mandatory) C Driver’s License or MR Driver’s Licence or higher (mandatory) Traffic Control (TC) ticket, or willing to obtain within 2 months ofthe start date Comfortable with regular travel and extended periods of camping away from home (up to 90%) Proven experience operating civil construction machinery and working in physically demanding environments Flexible, reliable, safety-focused, and a strong team player Must pass a Police Check (can commence employment while awaiting results; termination applies without penalty if disqualifying outcomes arise) Willing to undertake further training or tickets as needed Must have valid Australian working rights – Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or long-term visa holder We’re currently hiring for multiple other blue-collar roles ($40-60/hoursuper) across regional NSW, including: MR & HR Truck Drivers Labourers Road Workers Other skilled and unskilled site crew roles Locations: Wagga Wagga, Hay, West Wyalong, and the broader Riverina region These are fantastic opportunities to work with stable, government road project teams offering consistent hours, great pay, and travel allowances where applicable.
