Our Gold Coast based client are seeking the services of a contract Senior Supervisor (Construction) to manager a series of projects at varying stages.
This position will run for 3 months with very high likelihood of being extended into the long term Responsibilities will include: • General Supervisory Skills with experience in dealing with commercial/residential construction projects • Supervisory Role assisting the Construction Manager delivering the current commercial/residential construction projects • construction industry related trade qualification (highly desirable); and computer skills • current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card • Assist in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
• Undertake high quality estimation services to ensure efficient and cost-effective project outcomes.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
• Provide a level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction and upgrade work undertaken by the company • Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
• Coordinate inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
Ensure application of safety management system (SMS) including: • Participate in and facilitate WHS audits under the direction of the Principal WHS Advisor • Undertake on-site WHS inspections including plant and equipment checks • Ensure all job documentation includes safe work method statement or other risk assessment documentation as appropriate • Promote and ensure a healthy and safe work environment through own practices and education and awareness raising of staff and contractors while working with the WHS Advisors and Manager to promote a consistent WHS approach in the workplaces.
You will have Extensive leadership experience across construction projects of varying size A relevant formal/tertiary qualification or trade background Ability to guide large teams Ability to manage client expectations Excellent communication and administrative ability.
