Job/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Purchasing Officer and as part of the Finance and Creditors team, the Creditors Officer is responsible for processing the accurate and timely payment of Council’s creditors. This includes:
* Payment of major creditors such as electricity, Australia Post, Rural Fire Service and fuel accounts in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures
* Maintaining the Creditors’ Name and Address Register (NAR) to ensure that Creditor contact details and payment details are up to date in accordance with our EFTSure payment verification portal
* Reconciliation and processing of credit card statements.
* Support the Senior Creditors Officer with the reconciliation of creditor statements and the resolution of any discrepancies that may have been identified.

So what do you need?
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A relevant certificate in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent)
* Well developed computer literacy skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience in accounts payable and purchasing systems
* High level communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to maintain organisational confidentiality
* Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal records check
