Albury Wodonga Health, Special Care Nursery is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our leadership team as Associate Nurse Unit Manager. This role will ensure clinical practice and care are consistent with the AWH and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards. This will be demonstrated through provision of management and leadership to staff, as a delegate of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes for neonates and their families in our care.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an expert nurse with advanced clinical skills who will provide professional clinical leadership to nursing staff in our unit. The position contributes to the SCN, The Women’s and Children’s Division, and the organisation in ways such as; education to staff, families and health care professionals, quality improvement initiatives, research and evidence based practice projects, professional development, and clinical and professional leadership. The ANUM role is a rotating roster and includes night duty, PM shifts and weekends – in the absence of the NUM.
The successful applicant will be involved in the operational decision making in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for enacting strategies that support a positive work-based culture in our team.
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
Currently registration as a Registered Nurse, and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though AHPRA and a Victorian working with Children’s Check.
Evidence of ongoing professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio
Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing is Desirable
Relevant clinical and leadership experience within a Neonatal acute care setting
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary team and key stakeholders
Demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrate a willingness to seek and accept critical feedback
A strong commitment to the delivery of family centred care
Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills
Dedicated, empathetic and adaptable.
Understand the complex and varied presentations cared for in the SCN
