Isaac Region, covering an area of around 58,000km2, comprises 120km of Great Barrier Reef coastline and extends over 400km west to incorporate a rich agricultural and grazing heritage and premier metallurgical coal production. The region is exposed to a range of global influences and drivers which present exciting challenges to the local government professionals who serve it.The Economy and Prosperity Department is Council's advocate for the economic growth and prosperity of the region, through development of the region's industry, small business and tourism sectors and promotion of regional capability.Position OverviewReporting to the Manager Economy and Prosperity, the newly created position of Coordinator Property Development will be responsible for the management of projects, policy development and initiatives that assist Council in its dealings on a range of property assets and transactions, including land sales and leasing strategies. It also covers provision of subject matter expertise on land tenure and property law matters, development of frameworks and procedures that aid consistent and timely outcomes in Council's property dealings, cross-directorate collaboration on major project initiatives involving Council land assets and provision of advice and services in property law and compliance responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage projects and policy development related to property assets and transactions.Provide subject matter expertise on land tenure and property law matters.Develop frameworks and procedures for consistent outcomes in property dealings.Collaborate on major project initiatives involving Council land assets.Provide advice and services in property law and compliance responsibilities.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful, you will be a strategic leader and enabler for team growth and development, with a preference for experience gained from either Government or Regional Property Development including knowledge of property transactions or property development process. You can scope, plan, execute and monitor a range of strategic projects and initiatives. Confident communication skills are essential with the ability to engage with and anticipate the needs of stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience in development and delivery of strategies and initiatives to manage a range of Council property and land transactions, including leasing, sales and permitting is essential.Ideally, you'll have Tertiary or Vocational qualifications in Law/Property Development/Real Estate or similar field, or significant demonstrated experience in a relevant role along with Membership or eligibility to the Planning Institute of Australia. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and understanding of the legislative requirements applying to Council in its land and property dealings and be adept at working with diverse stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding and meet the evolving needs and expectations of Elected Members and the community. #J-18808-Ljbffr
