The Opportunity: As the Government Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in preparing advocacy materials, coordinating meetings with decision-makers, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Your expertise will help advance the interests of East Gippsland, ensuring our community’s voice is heard at all levels of government.
This is a full-time position based in Bairnsdale or Lakes Entrance with hybrid work options available.
What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria)
* Proven experience working on advocacy matters including ability to draft and deliver compelling advocacy material.
* Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships within government.
* Research and analytical skills that allow for the prompt assessment of matters across a range of fields and their implications for an organisation or area.
* Demonstrated ability to engender confidence and elicit cooperation from external stakeholders and staff at all levels of the organisation.
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area of study and/or extensive experience in a similar role are highly desirable.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and complete psychometric testing. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
