As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking an Environmental Officer to join our project team and make a valuable contribution to deliver the $136 mil. Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication project. Located 70km south of Perth, this critical infrastructure project includes construction of a second, two-lane bridge on the south side of the current bridge, along with construction of a new four-metre-wide shared path to improve connectivity for the local community.RequirementsThis role will be key in ensuring onsite implementation of the environmental management system requirements, the measurement of environmental compliance and driving high performance and environmental awareness on the project. You will also have the opportunities to provide technical support on significant environmental aspects, manage multiple environmental consultants, and liaise with the client and relevant stakeholders. Your duties involve :Implementing the requirements set out within the Project’s Environmental Management Plan on siteTaking part in environmental audits on site (internal and 3rd Party)Weekly Environmental inspections on the ProjectLiaise with project teams to ensure Georgiou environmental systems are being implementedProviding support on environmental aspects such as ecology, waste management, noise, vibration and water, including the monitoring of these items.Manage onsite environmental systems to meet Georgiou, legislative and client requirements and expectationsImplementing the conditions of the Project’s environmental permits and approvals, providing project team with awareness of legal compliance requirementsRecording all relevant environmental data and compile reports for both internal and external stakeholdersEnsuring that the project complies with Georgiou HSEQ systems, policies, standards and proceduresMonitor and identify threats and opportunities to deliver an environmentally compliant work environment.Identify improvements in environmental processes to deliver higher performance and engagement.What You’re Good AtAside from having relevant qualifications in environmental science or related discipline and similar on-site experience, you should have similar experience in environmental management on civil infrastructure projects or equivalent and ideally have knowledge of ISO 14001, and Federal and State Environment Acts & Regulations.To thrive in our team environment, you are a dynamic communicator who can build a strong relationship with project stakeholders at all levels.
