This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing February 2025 up until January 2026.
The Kimberley Schools Project (the Project) is a collaborative partnership between the Department of Education, Catholic Education Western Australia, the Association of Independent Schools Western Australia, the Department of Regional Development and Primary Industries. The Project is designed to accelerate and intensify existing strategies to address low education outcomes in the Kimberley and underpins broader economic and social development in the region.
The RoleThe Attendance and Engagement Officer supports and leads the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs. They are required to provide advice and support to School Based Attendance Officers (SBAO) regarding home visits, policies and procedures within a school-based context.
If successful, you will implement and manage system level initiatives relating to attendance at regional level in addition to monitoring and contributing to the management of school attendance strategies. Within this role you will facilitate and collaborate with Principals, SBAOs, school psychologists and participation staff on appropriate placement of non-attending and alienated students.
