Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal and Executive Support Officer to join our team at the Parliamentary Counsel's Office (PCO). As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to the Parliamentary Counsel, Deputies, and Executive Officer, ensuring the smooth operation of our legislative drafting and publishing services.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Parliamentary Counsel with the preparation of draft Bills and other legislative instruments, ensuring quality and timely completion.Perform editorial checking and proofreading, and provide production assistance to ensure draft legislation and related publications meet PCO standards.Prepare Explanatory Notes and Notices of Motion for Bills, and Cabinet materials as directed.Undertake legal research projects and administrative tasks as directed by the Parliamentary Counsel and Executive Officer.Accurately administer and maintain critical records and systems, including drafting workflows and liaison with staff.RequirementsHighly developed administrative and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.What We OfferWe offer a comprehensive in-house training program on legislative editing and publishing, including technical systems.
