Business Enabling Services Group / ICT Division / Secure Communications BranchABOUT THE BRANCHSecure Communications develops and supports the secure telecommunications needs of Australian governments including the design, deployment and maintenance of ICT infrastructure to support the Ministry and other whole of government initiatives.Secure Communications is responsible for providing and managing:the Ministerial Communications Network (MCN) which provides secure telecommunication services to all Ministers, Parliamentary Offices, and Agency Heads, in Parliament House and throughout Australia;the National TelePresence System (NTS) which provides secure video conferencing facilities at Australian Government offices, Parliament House and the offices of Premiers and Chief Ministers in every state and territory;secure Wide Area Network (WAN) communications services for Australian Government departments with interstate communications requirements;communications support to whole of government functions such as ASEAN Summit, Senate Estimates, and Continuity of Government initiatives.Executive Level 1 ($126,885 - $153,655) Ongoing Full-timeCanberra, ACTABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Secure Communications Network Operations Centre (NOC) is looking for a customer focused, agile, and resilient Senior Network Engineer. The Senior Network Engineer will be required to provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to various projects as the Network SME. The NOC is responsible for the management, monitoring and maintenance of the MCN, overseeing network and unified communications systems.The team:Provide back end support, perform maintenance and upgrades on Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure (NTS) and predominantly Cisco based Network infrastructure;Under limited supervision design network and/or unified communications device configurations to implement topology or technology changes across different networks;Troubleshoot network and/or unified communications problems and implement resolution;Construct, test and install new services for the MCN and NTS clients;Research existing and emerging technologies to determine potential suitability for use on MCN with the aim to future proof the network;Secure Communications services are located all over Australia in capital cities and regional locations.
