UGL Regional Linx are looking for a passionate & enthusiastic Community Relations Officer to join our team.

Job Purpose
The Community Relations Officer position assists the Stakeholder and Communications team (SEC) in managing incoming questions, complaints, and work requests to UGLRL. It is also charged with delivering proactive and reactive communication solutions that build the company’s reputation and enhance its relations with key stakeholders.
The Community Relations Officer is the first point of contact responsible for processing incoming and outgoing communication, attributing priority and referring communication to the relevant business units within the company for action.
This includes the development of internal and external relationships with key stakeholders and the implementation of Stakeholder Engagement Plans in support of individual major capital works, including the construction of bridges, and maintenance works, that may impact the community and ensure that key stakeholders are kept updated of progress from the design phase to works completion, under the approval of the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Lead.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supports the Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Lead with stakeholder engagement activities, including developing and conducting community consultation relating to major and minor building works conducted by the company.
2. The role involves acting as a contact point within UGL Regional Linx for external stakeholders, including local businesses, councils and community groups. This will involve occasional travel to towns across NSW.
3. Core duties include supporting and advising other departments of UGL Regional Linx regarding community and stakeholder elements associated with building and maintenance projects, recording and reporting the stakeholder caseload, drafting content for social media, and performing ad hoc duties.
4. Knowledge and/or experience in data analysis using tools like Excel or Power BI would be highly regarded.
5. Process telephone and email complaints and inquiries from the public, media or government bodies and provide relevant information for action by the Manager – Stakeholder Engagement & Communication and/or Advisor.
6. Assist in the development of Internal Communications to engage, inform, guide and support businesses across a broad range of initiatives, issues and activities.
7. Maintain standards, guidelines, and protocols for all internal communication.
Qualifications
1. Experience in community relations.
2. Experience and/or training in data analytic tools like Excel or Power BI would be well-regarded.
3. Experience in rail, Defence, aviation or any safety-critical environments is highly desirable.
4. Outstanding communication skills (oral & written) to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
5. Ability to work remotely and unsupervised.
