Up to $15,000 incentive payments may be available to support relocation$35.52 to $37.80 per hour plus salary packaging | Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Level 2 - Steele Haughton UnitPermanent Full Time | 80 hours per fortnight including a monthly ADOAbout the RoleAs a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Level 2 (PEN Level 2) within the Steele Haughton Unit, you will deliver high-quality care to consumers aged 65+ experiencing acute mental health challenges. Working in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), you will provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services, with the opportunity to mentor and support both consumers and staff. SHU is a 10-bed Aged Acute and 20-bed Residential inpatient unit providing clinical services for older adults with complex mental health conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister prescribed medications (NMBA approved) and provide medication information to consumers and carers.Conduct mental state examinations, psychosocial assessments, and consumer interviews.Develop and update consumer-centred care plans, identifying clinical risks and collaborating with the MDT.Ensure a safe and supportive physical and psychosocial environment for consumers and staff.Plan and run group sessions with the Clinical Nurse Educator and provide mental health education to consumers, carers, and significant others.Participate in consumer reviews, discharge planning, and coordinate with the MDT for recovery-oriented care.Support and participate in peer and carer programs, mentoring PEN student learners.Provide tailored care for older adults in line with recovery principles.Skills & ExperienceDiploma of Nursing (or equivalent).Registered with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (mandatory).NMBA-approved qualification in medication administration (or working toward it).Minimum of 2 years' experience in mental health, particularly in working with consumers experiencing acute mental health conditions.Ability to apply recovery principles in practice and demonstrate effective communication with consumers and carers.Knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act, 2022, and the ability to work autonomously within legal and ethical frameworks.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency in computer skills and the use of online communication platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, telehealth).Interested?Click APPLY or if you wish to discuss the role prior to applying, contact Jane Lockhart, Nurse Unit Manager - Aged Acute on 0419 755 785 for a confidential discussion.If you are currently employed at Grampians Health, please ensure you sign in through the 'Employee Login' via the external Careers Page or access the Careers Page via the Intranet before applying.We're actively seeking candidates for this role and will review applications as they are submitted.
