We have a current opportunity for a Search and Rescue (SAR) Planner and Coordinator, on a contract basis within the Defence sector.
The role is based in Canberra, ACT.
The contract is for an initial 3 month period, with a 6 month extension option.Start: circa 18 April 2025DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Delivery of Training and Simulation OperationsThe (SAR) Planner and Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:delivery of an SAR plan that is ready for authorisation and publication;engagement with the Directorate (lead planning agency) to understand TS25 command and control arrangements and procedures;engagement with planners participating services/groups and partner nations to understand elements / assets that will contribute and/or be subject to the SAR Plan;engagement with other relevant agencies to account for integration requirements;traveling to, and participating in, TS25 Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) to test, validate and adjust the plan prior to execution;reviewing and incorporating relevant Defence doctrine and policy;reviewing and incorporating lessons from previous ADF SAROPS into the SAR Plan;writing a plan that aligns with standards outlined in the ADF Writing Manual;design and establish a Combined Exercise Control Group (CECG) SAR Cell to provide the Exercise Director with a 24/7 SAR planning, coordination and response capability throughout the conduct of TS;staff the CECG SAR Cell in a 24/7 manner that integrates with extant A Shift (day) and B Shift (night) arrangements;understand and monitor exercise events to ensure compliance with SAR Plan and/or relevant SAR considerations;provide SME input into deliberate and contingency planning requiring SAR considerations;provide on-demand SME advice to the Exercise Director and other executives;coordinate immediate response to SAR incident in conjunction with CECG nodes and other agencies;support post-event recovery and reporting following any SAR incident.Minimum mandatory requirements:AGSVA Security ClearanceDefence experience.Experience in developing and implementing a SAR PlanFor the full information on this position, please submit your CV before 8am Thu 03 April 2025.
