Job PurposeThe Commercial Finance Analyst for BritBox Australia is responsible for providing support across the finance function, including both Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Actuals & Reporting (A&R).
This role involves working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and the wider finance teams across BBC and BritBox to assist local heads of department in understanding financial data and providing invaluable analysis to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesAssist in preparing budgets and forecasts at each cycle, including analysis of past performance, maintaining the rolling forecast, and uploading data to the finance system (BPC).Analyze all revenue and cost lines, with a particular focus on content spend, marketing spend, and subscriber reporting.Serve as the first line of review for month-end journals prepared by the Financial Accountant and assist with A&R duties.Support the Head of Finance in business partnering with local heads of department and the EVP of BritBox Australia.Assist with the mid/long-range planning process and other projects as required.Help with the reconciliation and review process of work conducted by the offshore team based in India (balance sheet and bank reconciliations).Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience2-3 years of experience in a similar role.Strong analytical ability.Experience with month-end journals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.SAP experience and strong Excel skills preferred.Media or SVOD experience is an advantage.Degree in Accounting or Finance.Our ValuesOur BritBox Global Values not only represent our culture but also ensure that we have principles that shape everything we do.
