The roleThe Environmental Division in Newcastle is looking for a dedicated full-time Quality Control Officer to join a team committed to exceeding client expectations by delivering timely, high-quality results and fostering strong client relationships. This dynamic, hands-on role involves conducting quality audits both in the field and the laboratory, following a structured audit schedule.
The day to dayEnsuring adherence to local ISO17025 and ISO 9001 certificationInvestigation of quality issues identified within the laboratoriesPerforming regular in-house equipment calibration verifications as requiredUndertaking system and method audits according to guidelines outlined in the ALS Quality Procedures and ALS Quality ManualMonitoring systems for statistical quality control of laboratory dataGeneration and review of data, following up on issues, reviewing and working on reducingThe EssentialsPractical laboratory experience with a quality focusGood numeracy skillsDemonstrated self-motivation and a proven ability to complete tasks and follow up within set timeframesKnowledge of ISO17025 and NATA General Requirements for accreditation would be a distinct advantageCompetent with MS SuiteGood verbal and written communication skillsTraining or previous experience in a Quality Assurance role highly desirableTertiary qualifications in Chemistry or related Science are preferredWorking at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
