Job Description
About the role:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join our Sydney professional consulting team. You will bring enterprise experience in delivering high level technical solutions. You will design, develop, test, integrate, deploy through to maintenance and support. You will be a great collaborator with a cross-functional team of Architects, Business Analysts, Product Managers, Product Owners and Digital/UX will be required to ensure a successful delivery of all outcomes.
You will Maintain and enhance existing C++ codebase: Refactor and optimize existing code to improve maintainability, performance. Leverage MSXML for robust XML processing while ensuring thread safety and synchronization. You will Investigate and determine causes of bugs and defects in collaboration with support teams.
You need to ensure code written is well structured, effectively commented, run as efficiently as possible, and consistent with being easily understood and maintained. You will participate in effective code reviews for work teams, as a reviewer or reviewee, to reduce present and future bugs and improve team coding practices.
Moreover, you will generate and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, detailing learnings, and techniques in overcoming significant obstacles. Promote and contribute to the development of group knowledge, sharing expertise and learnings. Work as an SME to Identify areas for improvement beyond the daily scope of this role.

Qualifications
• Must have a proven track record of developing and delivering end-to-end web applications for large corporates or user bases.
• Develop and optimize C++ applications: Utilize C++11/14 standards, ATL/STL, and Boost libraries to create efficient and scalable software solutions.
Leverage DCOM across processes, multi-threading and synchronization techniques (e.g. semaphores) to ensure high-performance and reliability.
• Experience having worked productively as part of an agile cross functional team of product owners, QA, DevOps, solution architect and development team.
• Good in providing estimation of technical tasks and escalate promptly when issues and/or risks arise.
• Ability to work autonomously and as a part of team taking ownership of assigned tasks.
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
• Strong skills and experience in C++ and COM+ development.
• Strong background of full Stack Software development using .Net (C#, ASP.Net, .Net Core).
• In-depth understanding of JavaScript/Typescript, the DOM, and relevant concepts.
• Experience in MS SQL Server development (stored procedures, functions, triggers).
• Experience working in a cloud-based environment with DevOps culture (Preferably AWS).
• Experience with the programming essentials (git, webpack, docker).
• Experience with source code management and CI/CD with BitBucket/GitHub or similar.
• Knowledge and exposure to microservice architecture and APIs (REST and GraphQL).
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence to track, plan and document.
• Experience working with AWS services: SQS, Lambdas, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, SNS and CloudWatch is good to have
