Therapeutic Youth Worker
We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our care team in South Hedland. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored therapeutic interventions to address the unique needs of each child or young person in our Out of Home Care Programme.
The Role:
* Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
* Contribute to maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean and personalised to those living there.
* Document events and developments related to the provision of care.
* Ensure NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care.
* Utilise trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
* Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to children and young people who may experience escalation and crisis.
* Encourage social engagement, recreation and community involvement.
* Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualised support plans.
* Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
* SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE IN DEVELOPING ESSENTIAL LIFE SKILLS.
* PROMOTE AND SUPPORT POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH FAMILY, CULTURE AND COMMUNITY.
* HELP CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE REACH DEVELOPMENTAL AND LIFE MILESTONES TOWARDS A HEALTHY, HAPPY AND THRIVING LIFE.
About You:
* We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support.
* You should have experience offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs.
* You will understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency and stability in the lives of children and young people.
* You should be adaptable and able to utilise a broad range of support strategies.
* You should be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting, with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
