The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role will allow you the autonomy to implement efficiency improvements that impact our whole business.Responsibilities:Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices in the billing system and processing batch payments.Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions and expense claims.Communicate with colleagues, customers and vendors regarding financial matters, managing our accounts inboxes.Manage fixed asset register.Assist with payroll processing.Qualifications:Tafe or University qualification in an accounting or related field.5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero.Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, at pace and meet deadlines.Knowledge of Australian payroll employer compliance obligations and GST; New Zealand not required but highly regarded.Understanding of internal controls, record keeping and audit trail requirements.Work Environment:Modern warehouse office in Surry Hills, walking distance from Central Station.Well stocked kitchen full of snacks.Monthly social events.Flexible working and 3 days in the office (after completion of probation).
