Hays Recruitment are proud to be working with AQ1 Systems, a global leader within the aquaculture industry, to source an experienced Production Quality Assurance Manager for their modern manufacturing facility in Glenorchy, Tasmania. Their team of technical experts and support staff are dedicated to delivering high-quality, customised products and solutions for their global customers.
Your new role
In this role you will ensure the quality of mechanical components and systems throughout the manufacturing process, as well as an efficient production process in collaboration with the research and development team. Driving excellence across production and quality, you will be responsible for:
Quality Assurance
* Develop and implement quality protocols for mechanical components and assembly based on design criteria
* Establish and document quality control procedures for raw materials, manufacturing and finished products
* Conduct regular inspections and testing of mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance
* Evaluate and monitor external supplier quality
* Implement and maintain relevant reporting and documentation.
Continuous Improvement
* Assess current assembly processes in order to improve or develop efficiencies
* Review and enhance all current SOP's
* Identification and investigation of root cause analysis for non-conforming products
* Establish testing processes across the production team
* Provide expertise to the R&D team to ensure new products and product enhancements are feasible for production, aligning design and manufacturing capabilities
* Design and create jigs, fixtures, and other tools to streamline production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure consistent quality.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes and quality control. You have knowledge of relevant quality standards and experience with quality management systems. You are analytical with strong problem solving skills and have a proactive approach. A confident communicator, you can eloquently present to internal stakeholders to convey your knowledge and expertise. You have excellent problem solving abilities and attention to detail, and a focus on achieving efficiencies and positive outcomes.
