About the role A brand-new opportunity has arisen in our Sydney office for a mid-level Business Systems Analyst to join us on a full-time basis. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to analyse business needs, provide data-driven recommendations, and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that the firm continues to provide exceptional service to its clients. Your day-to-day will be varied, however you can expect some of your responsibilities to include: Gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements for client reporting, projects and process improvements. Collaborating with stakeholders including Partners and other Lawyers to understand the data sets required and their purpose. Working together with other teams to provide information and bespoke solutions for complex legal reports. Understanding the design of data capture screens in order to work with internal and external resources to deliver the required screens. Extracting insights from large datasets to make data-driven recommendations, presenting data in reports, pivot tables and visualisations, and assisting with the identification and correction of invalid data. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing solutions to optimise data management processes and operational effectiveness. There will be an initial requirement for this role to be on-site for training purposes, however the ongoing requirement to be in the office is flexible. About you Some of the key skills and attributes we are looking for in a successful candidate include: 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst, ideally with experience gained in a law firm or professional services setting. A high level of understanding in data analysis tools and techniques including SQL, Excel, SSRS and Power BI. Highly developed skills in capturing, organising and detailing business needs in the context of legal services and operations. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in order to discuss projects, complex technical concepts, and present findings to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into practical solutions. An ability to cope with changing and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Experience with Aderant Expert or Legal Practice Management systems would be advantageous.
