2. Part time, Temporary Contract until 31st December 2025 (option to work two half days per week or four x 2-hour days per week)
3. TCSA Salaried Award, Clerk Genscale 10, hourly rate of $ + plus superannuation
Taronga Conservation Society Australia is seeking a motivated Student Support Officer, who will provide quality course administration and student management to students undertaking the ACM20121 Certificate II in Animal Care course at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland and online.
The successful candidate will be joining at an exciting time as this RTO continues to grow in the online space, interstate and with further course offerings. This is a rare and unique part time role, based at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and with flexible WFH arrangements!

About the Role…
Key Accountabilities…
5. Assist with the development and coordination of the TTI delivery timetable including training schedules, Behind the Scenes experiences, site tours and student facilitated practical roster which requires ongoing communication with divisions and supervising keepers.
6. Provide support to students including being available for student enquiries, managing absences, opening up assessments and managing extension requests, correspondence about course/assessment dates and routine updates.
7. Track student progress as well as encourage and motivate students throughout their studies.
8. Coordinate communications with both students and schools, including student progression reports, notifying schools of absences, general student correspondence.
9. Provide support to trainers and assessors including providing administration assistance, setting up classrooms, advising trainers of any student concerns.
10. Assist with the coordination of the student application and enrolment process, including reviewing applications, interviewing prospective students, organising and running Orientation and Graduation Days.
11. Work with the Compliance and Administration team members to ensure student data is up to date on the Student Management System (aXcelerate) and all course requirements are completed as studies progress.
12. Undertake the full range of student support services, including records management, routine correspondence, meeting and event support, and creating, compiling and distributing documents to assist with the efficient operation of TTI in accordance with compliance requirements.
13. Respond to student enquiries and escalate as necessary to ensure queries are responded to in a timely manner in line with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter.
14. Provide support to the TTI team and undertake special projects as required.
15. Communicate Taronga’s education and conservation messages both internally and externally, ensuring all communications align with Taronga’s values to inspire change in accordance with Taronga’s vision and strategic plan.
About You…
We are looking for candidates that:
16. Have demonstrated experience in administrative support.
17. Have demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
18. Are willing to obtain and maintain a current paid QLD Working with Children Check at own expense.
