It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.About the role:Santos is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to provide financial business partnering and decision-making support to our Eastern Australia Procurement & Supply Chain department. In this key role, you will work closely with the EA&PNG GM of Procurement & Supply Chain, as well as EA Managers and Team Leaders to support operational efficiency, cost recovery, and financial reporting across various departments, including Operations Support, Fleet, Warehouse & Material Management, Procurement, and Aviation.Key Responsibilities:Provide financial business partnering support to senior leaders and key stakeholders within the Procurement & Supply Chain department.Analyse and report on departmental performance against budget, offering valuable insights and commentary on trends.Ensure accurate and timely recovery of logistics and operations support costs across EA Assets.Maximize cost recovery across joint ventures and minimize corporate costs.Lead the annual budget build for supported cost pools, including allocations for the Procurement & Supply Chain department.Perform month-end accounting tasks such as journal preparation, reviewing results, and conducting integrity checks before ledger close.Prepare group-wide monthly balance sheet reconciliations for warehouse inventory and stock obsolescence provisions.Implement improvements in financial reporting processes to drive cost savings and efficiencies.Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making across EA and Corporate departments.Support projects aimed at enhancing decision-making processes and financial systems.Ensure adherence to Santos standards, including the Delegation of Authority (DOA), Santos Management System (SMS), and Code of Conduct.What you’ll bring:Proven experience in business partnering and management accounting or financial reporting.Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.Experience working in a financial role that supports operational decision-making.You will be an experienced professional with a strong background in supporting operations, logistics, or similar disciplines. Your previous experience within the oil and gas or mining industries has equipped you with valuable insights into financial analysis in these sectors.You are familiar with advanced financial systems such as SAP S / 4HANA and Jedox, allowing you to streamline processes and drive efficiencies. Holding a tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, Economics, or Finance, you also possess a CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
