The Central West and Outback Mental Health Team is dedicated to delivering quality mental health services to rural and remote areas of Outback Queensland.
The team offers flexible, professional mental health services tailored to meet the unique needs of people living in these regions.
Your duties will include conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, providing therapy and counselling services, and facilitating referrals to other healthcare providers when necessary.Who Are We Looking For?We are seeking clinicians who are experienced in providing services to people in rural and remote locations and have demonstrated clinical skills in delivering psychological therapies to individuals with mild to moderate mental health needs.
Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:Registration with AHPRA or membership with the AASWQualifications in Psychology, Social Work (accredited with AASW), Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing (eligible for Mental Health credentialing)3+ years of post-graduate experienceDemonstrated experience in brief interventions and therapeutic counselling with patients of all agesRespectful understanding and experience working with cultural diversityA Working with Children Blue Card (for Social Workers only)This role is based in Longreach and involves a fly-in, fly-out arrangement from Brisbane.
RFDS will cover all travel and accommodation costs, including allowances for time away from home.
You will work on a roster of 12 days on and 9 days off in a permanent, full-time position.RFDS LongreachSince 2004, RFDS (Queensland Section) has provided mental health support to people in Longreach and surrounding areas.
The service operates on a hub-and-spoke model, with the Longreach office serving as the primary base for clinicians delivering services in nearby communities.
