About the opportunity We’re seeking a Finance and Administrative Officer to play a vital role in supporting the Centre’s financial, HR, and operational functions. In this diverse and rewarding position, you’ll be a key point of contact for staff and external stakeholders, providing guidance on finance, HR, facilities, meetings, and travel. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will be to: manage billing, accounts receivable/payable, credit card reconciliation, and procurement processes maintain accurate financial records, including account reconciliation and audit preparation assist in preparing General Ledger reconciliations and processing monthly/yearly journals. support the drafting of grant, sponsorship, and partnership agreements oversee budgets, allowances, and key financial registers provide general administrative and operational support prepare employment, affiliation, and contractor agreements, as well as casual academic schedules facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for employees, fellows, volunteers, and affiliates ensure effective coordination of WHS inductions. About you: qualifications in Finance and/or HR or equivalent experience gained through education, training, and hands-on roles exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to handling diverse enquiries the ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment to navigate day-to-day challenges meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively during peak periods working knowledge of higher education institutions or think tanks (highly desirable).
