About The Role
As the Senior Advisor, Food & Wine Exports, you will strengthen and expand the value of international trade in South Australia's food and beverage sector. Reporting to the Manager, Food & Wine Exports, you will support strategy and drive the management and implementation of numerous global trade initiatives, including delivering the Seafood Export Growth Program across multiple international markets and sales channels.
You will also support high-level, complex research and project management activities to grow exports for the South Australian food and beverage producers and exporters. This includes the provision of expert advice, consultation and assistance to exporters, producers and to the Department of State Development (DSD) international office network.
More Specifically, You Will Manage and drive international growth opportunities in collaboration with Food SA and manage the daily operations of the Food SA partnership and collaborative initiatives. Deliver the Seafood Export Growth Program across multiple markets and sales channels, in conjunction with DSD's international office network. Ensure all food and beverage projects are strategically aligned to increase the number of new exporters in international markets and to help expand the export footprint for existing exporters, in collaboration with the Food & Wine Exports team and wider Trade and International Markets. Grow South Australian exports in targeted international markets by establishing and managing effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including working proactively with businesses in the food and beverage sector. Prepare high quality comprehensive reports, including tracking commercial outcomes, briefings and Ministerial responses relating to projects, companies, future directions and risks to South Australian wine trade and market development, both domestically and internationally. Employ formal and informal systems for actively gathering feedback from stakeholders, comparing project outcomes against strategies/targets and identifying and incorporating any learnings into business processes and future projects. Assist in the development of wine initiatives (where required) to pursue new export opportunities through utilising detailed market intelligence research and analysis, supporting market entry and expansion strategies for South Australian businesses. Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Significant experience in international trade development for the food and beverage industry including knowledge of South Australian food and beverage producers and exporters with recent experience in the food and agribusiness sector. In-depth understanding of the food and beverage sector in South Australia including the major issues, trends, developments, and their implications to future directions, market access and international trade. Demonstrated strong project management capabilities to develop and implement strategic trade development projects and activities supporting food and beverage exporters. Experience working with the marketing team to support the development of messaging and assets for the South Australian food and beverage sector. Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and ability to assist exporters with the distribution of product for DTI-related events and initiatives. An up-to-date knowledge of government administrative processes including budget, procurement, information and records management. You Will Also Have strong stakeholder engagement skills, building cohesive networks with DSD international offices, international trade, South Australian food producers and exporters, logistics providers, government, industry stakeholders and international DTI departments. Bring a high degree of organisational skills, effective time management and attention to detail to support the DSD international network to deliver food and beverage projects and initiatives. Work collaboratively and effectively with internal DSD departments to achieve shared objectives. Exercise tact and discretion in dealing with politically sensitive and complex issues. Remuneration
Competitive salary $98,478 to $104,165 pa plus superannuation.
