You need to be calm under pressure and a skilled multitasker who can manage competing demands. You will have a positive, can-do attitude, enthusiasm for breaking news and original storytelling.
The Job The successful applicant will oversee and co-ordinate the daily output of both bureaus in a responsive and efficient manner. You will also;
Provide effective leadership for a whole-of-team approach to content creation for online, broadcast, and social media to engage local, state and national audiences across platforms.Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.Align regional content with ABC News' strategy and audience expectations.Actively engage in activities on national projects, with support of the audience content and community partnerships teams.Develop and build team capability through appropriate training, coaching and mentoring.Offer feedback and leadership to foster a high-performance culture.Lead your team during Emergency Broadcasting incidents to provide crucial information to audiences.This is a fast-paced role so you will need to be a great communicator with exceptional organisation skills and a genuine commitment to the audience. If you have demonstrated editorial leadership experience and a proven track record working in a Radio and/or News content making environment, we want to hear from you.
