As such, we are embarking on three major initiatives that educational designers will play a key role - uplifting all our units of study Canvas sites to a new Canvas template; implementing the University's Student Relationship Engagement System (SRES) broadly across the faculty; and redesigning assessments to respond to AI.
The role of the Education Designers will be to work with unit coordinators and educators to transition their unit of study Canvas site materials to a new Canvas template, build capacity to use SRES in response to unit and educator requirements, and work with educators to develop assessment plans that are responsive to AI.
This requires excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, judgement in providing well-guided advice, and good understanding of learning pedagogies.
The Educational Designers will also develop and implement diverse educational resources, tools, and materials, and ensure solutions meet the teaching and curriculum needs of the faculty.
They also identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance the student learning experience.The Education Designer works under broad supervision, performing tasks independently to deliver against goals.
They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks.
They are a subject matter expert and provide advice as the first point of contact for their expert area.
They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.Your key responsibilities:transition all Canvas sites to a new template, to increase the use of SRES across the faculty, and to provide advice to educators to help them redesign their assessment tasks and learning activities in response to A.I.
and incoming changes to our Assessments Policydesign creative student-centred learning experiences, both blended and online, that are based on sound educational design principles partner with Academic and teaching staff on instructional approaches, activities, and assessments that support student centred learning create, test, and implement online and classroom educational resources for staff and students using tools such Canvas, SRES, HTML, Articulate & H5P, Premiere Pro (or similar) and other full range of other education technologies use your technical skills and judgement to identify problems, brainstorm and analyse answers, and implement the best solutions possess a keenly curious mind and be able to develop proficiency in new tools and approaches ensuring their effective adoption by academic and teaching staff.
About you:Bachelor's Degree in a relevant fieldextensive knowledge of policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary education environmentexcellent time and workload management and organisational skills, including the demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and achieve team goalsability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work in a positive mannerstrong capabilities in administering learning activities, including delivering online access to teaching materials and learning activities using a university LMSstrong technical skills and experience using learning management systemsstrong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.Pre-employment checksYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
