As an Electrical Power System Engineer you will be responsible for conceptual and detailed design, power system modelling for a variety of projects. The company specialises in developing, engineering and executing large-scale industrial projects across various sectors, Including oil & gas, mining and minerals, power generation and distribution, as well as renewable energy and hydrogen industries. As a result of continued growth, we are actively recruiting for Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join the team. As the Electrical Power Systems Engineer your day-to-day engineering will include but not be limited to the following: Working on all aspects of electrical scope of work across all phases of projects including conceptual Studies, FEED, detailed design and procurement through to commissioning. Design HV & LV generation, distribution, reticulation, and control systems. Produce technical documentation, specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including low and high voltage switchgear, power transformers, protection and control equipment and power management systems. Power system studies including earth grid performance studies, load flow, fault levels, protection coordination, and dynamic / transient system analysis. Detailed design of secondary control and protection systems. Provide guidance, coach and mentor engineers across the discipline. A little bit about you: A degree qualified Electrical, Power Systems or Instrumentation Engineer, ideally recognised by Engineers Australia. Demonstrated understanding of power system modelling with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as SKM PTW, ETap, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, etc. Experience and exposure working with network/ distribution NSPs, knowledge of the NER. Field experience in large scale electrical installations, including IED protection IED configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and construction support will be advantageous. Experience and knowledge of the prevalent high voltage design standard and codes including AS/NZS, IEC and IEEE standards.
