Chef/Cook in Child Care required. Full time Above award wages.We are seeking an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about providing children with high quality, nutritious food.Must have Food Safety Supervisors CertificateResponsible to the Director and through the Director, to the Management Committee, you will be responsible for:Plan well-balanced menus which are in line with the Centre's nutrition policy.Prepare and provide nutritious meals and snacks for children 0 - 6 years, which are presented in an appealing manner.Take into account special dietary needs of particular children attending the Centre including food allergies, intolerances and cultural requests.Complete food orders within the budgeting guidelines and check orders on delivery. Maintain an inventory of food items and equipment as required.Maintain a neat, healthy and hygienic work environment in the kitchen, including daily cleaning of dishes, work surfaces, stove and floor, as well as regular cleaning of the pantry, refrigerator and cupboards.Maintain and document all relevant temperature checks and all other required documentation.Liaise with the Director and co-workers regarding involvement in Centre programs which encourage children's' awareness of healthy diet practices.Follow and implement the food safety program and meet the requirements of the National Quality Standards (NQS).Work independently and be self motivated but also work with the larger team environment.Above award wages and conditions • Four weeks of annual leave per year - two weeks end of year closure • 3 additional A/L days to be used over the two week closure at the end of the year. • EPA - Employee Assistance Program, 6 free confidential counselling sessions per year.• Free access to Be Me - Wellbeing program
