Job Summary
BJ Disability and Support Services is looking for experienced, reliable, and empathetic Support Workers in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.
The role may involve:
1. Assistance with community access and recreational activities
2. Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
3. Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
4. Transportation and social engagement
5. Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
6. Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Essential Criteria
1. Minimum Certificate III Aged Care and/or Certificate in Disability
2. Hands-on experience in manual handling
3. An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
4. Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
5. A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
6. NDIS Worker Screening Check
7. The legal right to work in Australia
8. Excellent communication skills
9. A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
10. Current Working with Children check
11. Sound computer skills

Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $35.00 – $60.00 per hour
