About the Opportunity
Council is seeking a Plant Operator who will be responsible for undertaking maintenance and construction duties through the skilled operation of Council's plant fleet, in particular a Grader.
This position is based in Chinchilla.
The successful candidate will report to the Works Supervisor and be responsible for:
* Servicing minor repairs and pre-start inspection of various types of earthmoving equipment;
* Operation of various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and equipment in Construction and Maintenance Works;
* Operating various civil construction plant to the required tolerances with due regard to the presence of services.
About yourself
To be successful in this role, you will need to have knowledge and experience in various aspects of civil construction and maintenance works OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
A highly desirable qualification for the successful candidate is knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and its application.
The successful candidate must hold a Current C Class Driver's Licence (mandatory) OR HR licence (desirable), as well as a Work Health and Safety Construction Induction White Card.
This is a full-time role, working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
The successful candidate will also need to provide evidence of Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) when requested by Council.
