These systems are essential to enable the ship to meet customer requirements, for the vessel to go to sea on schedule and for the ship to be managed efficiently by the crew when in service. We work with our suppliers to develop requirements, tailor the design for our Australian customer, define required product changes and integrate the control systems (hardware and software) into the ship platform. This requires us to define and manage a large number of physical and functional interfaces and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.The Hunter Class Frigate Program is a large, complex program and so offers an opportunity to work in an environment that is both technically challenging and exciting. Given the highly interdisciplinary nature of our work, we are open to all kinds of engineers - e.g. electrical, combat system, mechanical, systems, control and software.Key responsibilities include:Provide specialist engineering expertise to deliver significant aspects of engineering activity as part of a defined workstream within the Hunter Class Platform Management & Control (PM&C) team.Deliver the scope of work within the expected quality, cost and schedule parameters, set out by the programme in the plan defined and agreed with the CAM.Work collaboratively with other members of the team to achieve the defined deliverables.Develop, mature and integrate the design solution, both functionally and physically in alignment with defined workstream scope (e.g. Technical Maturity, Safety etc.).Ensure quality, design intent and safety requirements are maintained as the design evolves.Work with technical Subject Matter Experts, Design Authorities, Suppliers, internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the required capability is delivered for the customer.Contribute to a strong team performance through continuous improvement and regular feedback.Develop own skills and seek out opportunities to learn and grow.About YOUDegree qualification in a STEM discipline, or chartered professional engineer status or ability and commitment to obtain. Or alternatively demonstrate equivalent experience.High levels of resilience and adaptability.Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise issues/tasks as they arise.Strong communication skills.
