What you will do
Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing attraction, recruitment and selection processes for Legal Aid Queensland.
Reporting to the Specialist Consultant (Recruitment and Retention) this role has no direct reports, however works closely with the Recruitment Team to drive excellence in our talent acquisition practices. You will take charge of a specialised recruitment portfolio to support hiring managers and selection panels in understanding and executing best practice strategies to secure the talent necessary to achieve strategic objectives.
You will work with key stakeholders to identify workforce requirements and develop solutions to guide and implement business improvements to improve recruitment outcomes.
This will include participating as a panel member where required or supporting panels as an adviser, review selection reports and provide feedback, develop and implement attraction strategies, attending job fairs to promote LAQ as an employer, update panel materials, and implement strategies to increase speed of hire and attracting top talent to LAQ roles.
About you
1. You are experienced in talent management activities including attraction, recruitment, resourcing and retention.
2. You possess strong interpersonal and relationship management skills capable of establishing trust, credibility and reliability to effectively coach, develop and influence inspiring leadership behaviour at all levels.
3. You can identify core issues from information and draw accurate conclusions. You have demonstrated research and communication skills for preparing briefs, correspondence, policy and procedures, as well as versatile communication skills for communicating with all staff at all levels.
4. You can build and sustain relationships with team members, other colleagues and external stakeholders. You discuss issues credibly, offer convincing rationale, negotiate persuasively and your advice influences decision-making.
5. You are able to work independently, plan ahead and monitor task progress to ensure deadlines are met. You take on additional duties when required, demonstrate flexibility and reschedule or reorganise work to reflect changes in priority.
