Capricorn Helicopter Rescue (CapRescue) is a non-profit organisation that provides vital emergency transport, rescue and retrieval services for the people of Central Queensland.To continue to deliver our purpose of providing a world standard service to the community, we are seeking a motivated and innovative Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of development.Purpose of the PositionThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction of the service. The CEO will also make major corporate decisions, manage the service's overall resources and operations, and communicate with the board of directors, management team, and major stakeholders.Based in Rockhampton, QLD, the CEO is responsible for ensuring that the service is operating towards implementation of the corporate strategy, is aware of the external competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customer base, markets, new industry developments and standards, and fundraising opportunities.Reporting to the Board, the CEO is responsible for determining the strategic direction of the organisation, maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, delivering operational excellence and maintaining commercial viability. The CEO will be expected to provide leadership and inspiration for staff, partners, stakeholders and the community in the pursuit of CapRescue’s purpose.Skills and ExperienceYou are a seasoned leader with over five years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit, health or emergency management sectors. You bring a proven track record in operational management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Your strong financial acumen, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills, makes you a natural fit for this role.You will have exceptional skills in internal/external stakeholder engagement; financial reporting and management; business development and a strong passion for community services. You will have demonstrable skills and experience including:Excellent multiple stakeholder management skills internally with staff and volunteers, as well as externally with our crew, sponsors, business partners, customers, and other supporters.Experience in working with a Board to develop a high-quality strategic plan and a demonstrated capability in the effective implementation of strategic and operational plans.The ability to develop robust financial and commercial plans, and budgets to support the strategic plan ensuring financial strength and growth.An inspiring and visionary leadership style that will lead and motivate all stakeholders including staff, the Board, corporate and philanthropic partners, governments and the community more broadly.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to liaise and influence at all levels, both internally and externally including credible presentation skills with an ability to clearly and enthusiastically project the objectives and outcomes of CapRescue.A clear understanding of, and an ability to effectively manage aviation risk and an ability to ensure the health and safety of all staff, crews, volunteers and partners.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceOutstanding track record of effective strategic leadership and significant achievements at an executive level for a minimum of 5 years.Business acumen with demonstrated success in relationship management and building and diversifying organisational revenue.Experience with not for profit organisations, health and emergency services.Strong relationship management experience and effective negotiation skills.Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to communicate accessibly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated financial management capabilities at an executive level.Highly DesirablePostgraduate qualifications in management, marketing, social sciences, business administration, or related field.Experience in the aviation sector, disaster management and provision of health services.If you are a proactive leader with a strategic mindset and a commitment to driving positive change, we would love to hear from you.
