We are seeking Assistant Hatchery Manager for our Hatchery in Snaidero Road Griffith NSW location.
The position of Assistant Hatchery Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Hatchery Manager in the operation of a commercial Hatchery in all aspects.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
The position supplies operation direction to Hatchery staff
Assistance is given to all supervisors so that they have a full understanding of the KPI that apply to their section
Site specific WHS Policies and Procedures are formally approved Review WHS performance
Commit to the implementation of the safety plan
Review all accidents / incidents reported
Review WHS performance for Supervisors and Leading Hands
The Assistant Hatchery Manager has a practical understanding of environmental regulations and law as it relates to the operation and management of a poultry Hatchery and the disposal of associated effluent and wastes
Monitoring to show adherence to Baiada Standards and Systems through external and internal audits and review of CAR’s, customer complaints and environmental incidents / complaints demonstrate the successful implementation of all Baiada Standards and Systems within the Hatchery
The Assistant Hatchery Manager is readily accessible during work hours and promptly responds to requests on matters related to the operation of the Hatchery
The position identifies areas for improvement, participates in Hatchery problem solving teams, and coordinates Hatchery problem solving teams
Executing the Food Safety and Quality Culture procedure through day-to-day work in a safe manner and driving production of safe products that are fit for consumption in accordance with legislative, state food authorities, customer and Baiada specific requirements.
Requirements:
Knowledge of the poultry livestock industry, with particular reference to Hatchery processes
Detailed knowledge of Hatchery operations, including animal welfare and the technical aspects of hatching premium quality chicks
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to staffing at adequate levels, and control of chick production to meet customer requirements
Experience in staff supervision and ability to demonstrate sound leadership qualities
Well-developed problem-solving skills related to quality issues with the ability to arrive and implement long term preventative actions
Experience in the organization and implementation o training programs
Knowledge of the relevant Award / Workplace Agreement for the site and applicable levels and rates of pay
Ability to set and work within budgets, manage costs and cost reporting on a weekly basis.
