Our home consists of five resident communities, each with a dedicated team to look after your care needs.
It consists of 144 beds, with dementia and high care units.

About the Role
As a Chef Manager you will work with a team of Catering assistants to lead a
high functioning kitchen and catering service through the provision of quality, well presented, nutritious meals that meet Resident dining preferences and needs in a home like environment.

Duties
Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care home
Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for
Ensure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g.
diabetes, weight loss or gain)
Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinner
Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls
Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce
Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies
Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes
Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff - this includes changes to processes or resident requirements, introduction to new equipment safety or environmental regulations
Skills and Experience
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential
Aged Care / Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred
Ideally you would have previous experience in a similar role
Effective time management, organisational skills and budget management
Previous experience in leading a team is desirable and managing a budget
Understanding of Food Audits
Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to
effectively liaise with stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
