Permanent Full Time - 38 hours/week RISK AND ASSURANCE MANAGER About the Role As the Risk and Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring UOWGE and its controlled entities achieve their strategic objectives by implementing a robust, effective, and efficient risk management approach. You will work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, develop and maintain assurance activities, and embed a positive risk culture across the UOWGE Group.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Strategy. Coordinating and managing the administration of an internal audit function to ensure effective positioning, engagement and execution of internal audit activity and associated outcomes. Contributing to the development and ongoing implementation of an enterprise Business Continuity Plan and management approach. Guiding, supporting, and assuring risk management as it applies to significant projects. Key Selection Criteria Essential Skills and Experience: Extensive knowledge and expertise leading and managing an enterprise risk management framework, risk strategy and the continual improvement of risk related functions, processes and controls. Demonstrated experience in the provision of high quality information, advice and analysis to inform management decision making and engender a positive risk culture; combined with exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship management skills. Demonstrated ability to understand commercial challenges and opportunities, and proactively develop options, lead change and foster innovation to improve performance. Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound professional judgment to achieve business outcomes in a customer-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and maintain positive partnerships with business partners while at the same time remaining objective, with an ability to make an independent assessment of the risk environment and business challenges, and work toward practical risk mitigation actions. Demonstrated experience in report writing for an executive or committee level audience. Ability to work independently in an international environment. Technical Proficiency: High-level communication (written, oral) and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook). Ability to interact with all levels, particularly within the organisation. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring the strictest of confidence. Ability to work to strict deadlines. Ability to identify and implement process improvements and strategies in day-to-day activities. Personal Attributes: Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality at all times. Has integrity and operates with transparency. Proactive, positive, resilient and adaptable to change. Certified proof of right to work in Australia.
