Job Description About the position We anticipate candidates will be near the beginning of their careers or seeking a change of industry. Our aim is to professionally grow and develop the employee as a key member of the KiwiStar Optics team. You will be supervised and then made responsible for: Assemble and test electronic and electro-mechanical systems forming part of our products. Diagnose and repair machinery employed in the production of optical components. Assist in the design and planning of electro-mechanical aspects of tenders and projects. Desired Skills and Experience About You You will possess good skill of hand and manual dexterity, particularly in assembling electro-mechanical and optomechanical components, integrating systems (data, electrical, optical, control/drivers and IT), plus connector and cable assemblies. Your approach should be structured and methodical with attention to detail in design, analysis, diagnosis, testing, and verification. You will have a solid understanding of the uses of PLCs and industrial automation. You are a team player with a curious mindset and a willingness to learn new skills. Qualifications: Trade qualifications in electronics or mechatronics is preferred Degree or Diploma in electronics or mechatronics may be acceptable for candidates with direct hands-on experience.
