Department of Education Legal Practice has a significant role in the Australian legislative landscape, managing high-value grants and commercial arrangements.

About the Role
We are seeking experienced lawyers with exceptional legal skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a positive attitude.
Team placement will consider the candidate's skills, preferences, and the operational needs of our legal practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Corporate and Information Law Team: Provide advice on Freedom of Information Act 1982, privacy, data law, government advertising campaigns, and employment-related issues.
* Higher Education, Research, and International Legal Team: Offer legal services to the Higher Education, Research, and International Group, including portfolio legislation interpretation, administrative law, grants programs, legislative instruments, and legislative development.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
* A law degree from an Australian or comparable overseas institution.
* Admission as a legal practitioner in an Australian Court.
* Eligibility for a restricted Government practising certificate.
