We have a Senior Project Manager position available within the Water Sector for the NSW State Government!
About the Role
The primary purpose of the position is to manage the successful development, procurement and delivery of significant components of a major/complex project (capital to the value of between $250m-750m indicative).
The role will deliver project outcomes by providing the component project team with leadership, effective and timely decision-making, resolving complex issues and challenges and engaging with relevant peers, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders as required. The role will deliver the project component safely, within the relevant contract and asset standards (and agreed changes), in compliance with planning approvals, in a commercially sound way and to the satisfaction of key stakeholders and the community.
Candidates for this position MUST have strong project management experience on major projects, delivering medium large, multi-faceted, and complex civil infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
5. Manage the delivery of the project outcomes (including safety, time, cost, quality) to approved business cases and other relevant approvals
6. Oversee contractor work to ensure delivery of contracted requirements in terms of scope, cost, quality and time
7. Manage and enable resolution of the project(s) wide range of technical and commercial issues, monitor and support achievement of key project milestones and performance
8. Collaborate across the business and with key stakeholders to deliver the project outcomes
9. Build and foster constructive and collaborative relationships with the project(s) key external stakeholders and delivery partners (contractors, major developers, etc)
10. Build and lead effective cross-organisation and multi discipline integrated project teams across company and supply chain providers that are capable of working collaboratively to develop and deliver against the performance outcomes for the investment in any given major project
11. Monitor and advise on key strategic risks facing the project, advising on and implementing mitigation actions.
12. Manage project resources and ensure that individual and team performance is optimised in line with
13. project objectives and outcomes and business case parameters.
Please note that you will work out of their Sydney Olympic Park office, with some WFH flexibility provided. PMs are required 3-4 days in the office and 1 – 2 days on site on their projects.
About You
You will be an experienced Project Manager with proven experience and reliability on large infrastructure projects.
The successful candidates will possess:
14. Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Science, Infrastructure Investment, Construction Management, Engineering, Environment, Commerce) or experience deemed equivalent
15. Experience in development, procurement and delivery of complex, high risk, high profile, infrastructure projects
16. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary, effective and efficient project teams delivering assigned
17. performance metrics/outcomes
18. Advanced external stakeholder management and communications expertise
19. Demonstrated experience in efficient and effective decision making in the context of high risk/high profile project delivery
20. Experience working with key business stakeholders is beneficial
21. A minimum of 10 years industry experience.
